If you haven’t already gathered, I’m an atheist. Along with that, I’m a big fan of Richard Dawkins. He finds great points that I hadn’t even thought of. This video is 45 minutes long, but do me a favor and at least watch the first 6 minutes.
At work today, I was doing some stuff on Google Video. Yes, it was work-related. When I went to delete a sample video of a clock, I noticed that Google recommended this video as a correlated item:
Wow… a Korean live-action adaptation of Street Fighter. I had myself a hearty LOL as they introduced Blanka and especially Zangief.
Long, long ago, a swedish friend of mine introduced me to a little browser by the name of Phoenix. It was still in its beta days and I was still (stupidly) using Internet Explorer. It took me about a week to get used to Phoenix, but I’ve stuck with it. It became Firebird, then, as it is more commonly known, Mozilla Firefox.
As I was browsing Ars Technica today, I came across a mention of an update to the Mozilla store. They’ve got a lot of cool stuff in there. I’m enamored with this shirt in particular. I might just have to grab one.
Grumpy-Monkey.com was born in early 2000. Or 2001. I can’t remember. I had started playing around with PHP and MySQL and loved it, so I thought I could build and maintain a site for reviews, because, well, I was an opinionated bastard back then who liked to do that.
Maybe I still am.
It evolved into an online community based around People of Fark(Fark.com). I enjoyed this immensely, but the site got to be enormous, with over 10,000 users near the end. My lack of foresight and experience in the beginning was one of my downfalls. My coding didn’t compensate for thousands of users and it was a mess of hotfixes. In early 2006, the Monkey was taken down.
I had always planned to bring it back, but life just kept getting in the way. That, and my addiction to particular video games.
